The Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) has become one of the most epic highlights of The Festival Series. After making history in Rozvadov this June, where a record-breaking 2,417 entries turned King’s Resort into a The Hendon Mob stardom, the focus now shifts south to the sunny shores of Malta. The next chapter of THMC takes place at Portomaso Casino in St. Julians from September 14–17, 2025, and expectations are sky-high.
Rozvadov gave us a taste of how big The Hendon Mob Championship can grow. With a €150 buy-in and numerous days of action, the event crushed every previous record and set a new benchmark in THMC history. Haik Tougu from Estonia emerged as the champion, claiming €51,850 and writing his name into poker history. That moment showed what’s possible when the poker community, great venues, and passionate organisers come together. But as we close the Rozvadov chapter, it’s time to look ahead — and Malta promises to be just as special.
THMC Malta – September 14–17, 2025
The Festival Series is returning to Portomaso Casino, one of Europe’s most sunny poker destinations. The The Hendon Mob Championship in Malta will act as the kick-off event for an entire week of Festival action, starting one day before the official festival kickoff. Here’s what players can expect:
- Buy-In: €250
- Starting Flights: Three (Sep 14, 15, 16)
- Day 2: September 17 – until the champion is crowned
The higher buy-in compared to Rozvadov and the smaller number of flights mean that it’s unlikely Malta will challenge the record-breaking numbers we saw earlier this summer. But that’s not the real story here. THMC Malta is all about atmosphere, competition, and prestige. Malta has built a reputation as one of Europe’s favourite poker playgrounds, and with Portomaso Casino hosting once again, the stage is set for another unforgettable edition.
Looking Back – THMC Malta 2024
Last year’s THMC Malta was the opening multi-day event of the Festival, and it gave us a great indication of what this stop can deliver. With a €250 buy-in, the event attracted 334 entries and built a prize pool of €71,392.
Fred “FriDiGiDi” from Germany emerged as the winner, taking down €14,600 and the coveted THMC trophy, as well as the added package to the finals of THMC in Cape Town!
