Streamers & Ambassadors on Satellites
To dive deeper into what makes these qualifiers special, we asked Coolbet ambassadors and streamers for their perspectives on how they enjoy playing online satellites. We asked them as well about their experiences with The Festival Series:
Leif “Leffern” Eddy Iversen

Q: You stream together with Jevakim. Your community has been growing steadily and you have your own deepstack tournament, and many of your viewers are casual players. How do you level online satellite tournaments? Do you play them often? Why would you recommend online satellite tournaments?
Leffern: “Thank you, together with Ylva, we have been running this tournament for 4 ½ years now. On average, we have around 125–140 players on a Monday a month. I do play a lot of online satellites, probably 4–5 times a week. I definitely would recommend online satellites, it’s a great way to enter into events and tournaments.”
Christian “Sycksbe” Arstad

Q: Online satellites can sometimes feel intimidating for recreational players. From your perspective, how does Coolbet make these qualifiers more accessible and enjoyable for your viewers, and why would you recommend satellites for The Festival? Are they easy, fun, challenging?
Sycksbe: “The great thing about these satellites is that you have a chance to qualify and win packages from small buy-ins. Also, when playing these you often meet the same player pool, both from your stream community and other regular players. So we can chat about hands, throw some banter, and cheer for each other. There are so many different chances throughout the week, different steps with different buy-ins, and even with heaps of giveaways it’s so many chances for winning memorable trips for close to nothing. If they are easy? Poker is never easy, that’s why we love it.”
Dag “Acerziggy” Nilsen

Q: Giveaways are always a big hit on your stream. What do you think is the biggest impact of giving away qualifier tickets — both on the excitement within your community and on keeping players engaged with poker?
Acerziggy: “People like to be engaged in general, and I always try to do it in a way I personally would like to be entertained. Having qualifying tickets up for grabs for the viewers and players obviously makes it much easier to keep the level of excitement at a maximum level. Combine this with an awesome community that loves to battle each other, and I think that should answer the question big time — happy peeps that want to stick around and play poker with their new friends.”
Ylva “Jevakim” Thorsrud

Q: The Festival Series and Coolbet are teaming up to create this pathway from online communities to live events. What excites you the most about live events in Bratislava, can you share with us some must-do things in Bratislava?
Jevakim: “I love that The Festival and Coolbet is teaming up, so we can qualify through Coolbet online to play live at The Festivals! I really fell in love with Bratislava after discovering the city for the first time during The Festival in 2021. I just love the location of playing poker in the city centre, close to so many restaurants and cafés in the Old Town. It’s the cleanest Old Town I’ve seen, and it has such a great vibe with international festivals and players traveling to this up-and-coming poker metropolis. For sightseeing, I’d recommend Wakelake for those who like the water, and definitely check out local wine tasting places — Slovakia is a lovely wine country!”
